PRODUCER - freelance
Based in Melbourne, Australia

We're looking for an energetic, passionate and talented producer to join the team at Momentum!

Starting on a freelance basis, with room to grow.

Experience in producing isn't essential, but some experience working in production / journalism / media is preferred.

The role would entail

  • Interviewing / working with talent (of all ages and experience levels).
  • Create / assist in developing questions and talking points after receiving a client brief.
  • Working with on-camera talent before, and during filming to make them comfortable, excited and ease nerves.
  • Keep energy levels on-set high and ensure that everyone is having a great experience.

The right person needs to

  • Live in Melbourne, Australia (Our studios are based in the Yarra Valley)
  • Have great written and verbal communication skills while retaining a enthusiastic / positive attitude.
  • Have a drivers license / car, and have a Working With Children's Check.
  • Be able to follow briefs, but also think on your toes if inspiration sparks.
  • Understand story structure and be able to mould questions in order to create a coherent and engaging storyline.
  • Be competent on working to tight deadlines.

Overall, the sole responsibility would be to work with clients and talent in the pre-production and principle photography stages to make them come across in the best possible way on-camera.

Assembly Editor - freelance

We’re looking for an Assembly / Assistant editor to join our team to help prepare productions for primary editing.

This job is incredibly flexible and open to anyone, worldwide!

You can work from the comfort of your own home or work space, all you need is a fast internet connection.

This job may be online / offline depending on applicant’s geographical location.

Starting on a freelance basis, with room to grow.


The role would entail

  • Preparing edit projects for primary editing to speed up turn-arounds. This includes syncing audio, entering metadata, grouping good / bad takes, cutting footage to usable excerpts, and general preparation to ensure the primary editor can deliver content fast.
  • Develop, design and generate motion graphics to be used within the edits depending on the clients branding guidelines – These may be templates or drafts for reference use.
  • Work closely with the producers & directors to establish the goals of the client..

The right person needs to

  • Have excellent verbal and communication skills – Due to this role not being face-to-face, this element is critical.

  • Editing experience, particularly assembly editing; internship and/or school experience is acceptable.

  • A high-speed internet connection for data transfers (for Australian applicants, an NBN100 connection or higher is required)

  • Proficiency in Premiere Pro CC / After Effects: Knowledge of other software from the Adobe Create Cloud suite & CG software packages is a plus.

  • A desire to further improve skills and techniques.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of editing workflows.

  • Knowledge of hardware and software required for video and audio format conversion and compression.

  • Strong will and self-motivation to complete tasks on time.

  • The ability to learn new software, workflows and the implementation of new programs.

  • Be able to follow briefs, but also think on your toes if inspiration sparks.

  • Understand story structure and be able to mould content to create a coherent and engaging storyline.
