Client Sucess Stories

Here’s 2 (of many) examples of how we’ve helped our clients make an impact.

Case Study: Family Violence Prevention Commercials

Award-Winning Project

See how our work is helping our client's content reach its full potential and provide powerful ROI.

We teamed up with the City of Greater Dandenong & their 'Youth United Against Family Violence' working group to produce 3 commercials against Family Violence for White Ribbon Day.

The problem

City of Greater Dandenong, like many municipalities, was facing a rise in the number of family violence incidents and the impact on the young people was troubling. There was a need to educate young people on different kinds of family violence, such as image-based abuse and controlling behaviours, so help better equip young people to both stand up for themselves, their peers, and reduce risk of offending in their own lives.

Our proposed solution

We co-designed 3x commercials with a working group of young people
over a 8-week period, mentoring the young people in all aspects of production.

The results (online campaign)

  • The majority of our viewers were aged 13-17 - exactly who we were designing the messages for.

  • The total reach achieved on Facebook alone was 220,000+

"The strength of the campaign was the quality of the content and video collateral" - Media and Communications, City of Greater Dandenong

'Emerging Young Leaders
Pilot Program'

Video Campaign

Outcome: Fully funded

The Youth Disability Advocacy Service wanted to run a pilot leadership program specifically for young people who identify as having a disability,
the first of it's kind in Australia.

The problem

The program had some initial funding to conduct a pilot and to produce some video content to be used in both the acquittal process & to be used in future grant applications to fund the program on a more long-term basis.

YDAS understood video is one of the strongest ways to demonstrate an ROI and capture this first-of-its-kind program to pitch to potential funding bodies, and reached out to Momentum to help solve this challenge. It was also important to YDAS that the videos not fall into the common trope of portraying disabled people as ‘inspirational’ or ‘inspiring’.

Our proposed solution

Picture of Auslan user signing during a video

We pitched a number of deliverables to be used across a number of audiences and were tailored for various outcomes. A main video (4-5 minute short film) and short marketing videos for social media.

The main video was tailored to be apart of a grant application and to be used as a case study for the project to show potential funders, organisations & related sector organisations who could collaborate with YDAS to extend the program.

We also produced some short 'success story' testimonials from a couple of the young people who participated in the program. These were to be used as both proof of results for grant purposes but also for future lead generation of applications if the program was successful with securing more funding. We also created a number of 'Advice/Tips' videos from both workshop facilitators and program participants for general promotional use on the YDAS social media channels & future marketing for the program.

The results

  • The videos were successfully used in grant applications.

  • YDAS and Children and Young People with Disability Australia (CYDA)
partnered to secure almost $1 million over three years from the
National Disability Insurance Scheme’s ILC Individual Capacity Building (ICB) grants program for the Emerging Young Leaders Program.

  • The YDAS and CYDA partnership will allow the EYLP to continue to run in Victoria, and include training and support for other states and
territories so that the program can become national.

  • The program is now continuing to run and will continue with the current funding until 2022.

  • The videos across social media also were successful in attracting a
much more diverse bunch of leaders for the following workshops.

“I used to be a video producer but changed careers, so I was pretty picky about who to choose as a video supplier. Momentum Studios were professional from quote to completion. They added their own strong ideas and interpretation to the brief, which gave us more than we imagined.

The short videos about our leadership program are used every year to help us promote and explain our program. We then used Momentum again for a different project because we were so pleased. Hearty thumbs up”.
